Key points

  1. Final adjustment income tax returns. Starting calendar year 2001 and all later calendar and fiscal years, Large Taxpayers e-file these returns and e-pay the tax through EFPS. The deadline is the 15th day of the fourth month after the close of the taxable year.
  2. Payment option until June 30, 2002. For returns filed until June 30, 2002, Large Taxpayers may pay either electronically via EFPS or manually.
  3. Mandatory use from July 1, 2002. Large Taxpayers must e-file all returns that can be filed electronically and e-pay the taxes due through EFPS.
  4. Optional use for 200 Non-Large Taxpayers. From the same date, two hundred (200) Non-Large Taxpayers identified by the BIR may choose to use EFPS. Other taxpayers not covered by the Regulations may not use EFPS until appropriate regulations are issued.
  5. Enrollment. Identified taxpayers enroll in the system under the applicable regulations, circulars and orders. A taxpayer who e-pays enrolls with the Authorized Agent Bank where it intends to pay through the bank debit system.
