Summary

RMC No. 64-2023 prescribes the guidelines for the Search for the Philippines’ Brightest Buwis Masters (PBBM) of 2023, a Tax Quiz for college students.

Key points

  1. Who may join and how. The Search is open to all college students nationwide. Students register and get endorsed by their college or university. They submit the Endorsement Form with a certified true copy of the school ID and latest school Registration Form to the nearest RDO on or before June 9, 2023.
  2. Quiz levels. The Regional Tax Quiz is run by each Regional Office with its RDOs from June 19 to 30, 2023. Participants must be at the venue at least one (1) hour before. A Regional Office may hold an Elimination Round and a Final Round, and only the Top 12 contestants advance to the Final Round.
  3. Questions. A Committee of tax experts from the BIR and the private sector prepares them, and its decisions on the validity of answers are final and irrevocable. Questions cover BIR registration requirements, Income Tax, Value-Added Tax and Percentage Tax, in Easy, Average and Difficult categories.
  4. National Tax Quiz. The twenty-two (22) Regional Champions compete in the Championship Round on July 28, 2023 at the BIR National Training Center, BIR Main Office Compound, Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.
  5. Awards. The Top 3 (Grand Champion, 1st Runner-up and 2nd Runner-up) are declared the Philippines’ Brightest Buwis Masters of 2023. They receive Plaques of Recognition and their schools receive a trophy.
