CollapseExpand
Key points
- Equipment allowed. Only personally-owned desktop computers may connect to the BIR network. Personally-owned laptops, printers and the like may not.
- Who may request. Requests come only from Revenue District Offices, including RDO Nos. 116, 121, 124, 125 and 126 (Large Taxpayers Service), LTDO No. 122 (Makati) and LTDO No. 123 (Cebu). The request uses the Connection/Disconnection of Personally-Owned Desktop Computer Request Form, evaluated and implemented by the concerned Revenue Data Center.
- Conditions. The requesting personnel unconditionally agrees to diagnostics and reformatting of the computer. Connected computers get a control number and are regularly monitored through the Asset Management tool.
- Transfers. Personnel who are re-assigned or transferred must request disconnection before reporting to the new assignment. Failure is a ground for disapproving the connection request at the new place of assignment.
- Control numbers. The control number is cancelled when disconnection is requested, either on pull-out or on transfer. A new control number is issued once the connection request at the new assignment is approved.
Who is affected
- Revenue personnel with personally-owned desktop computers
