Key points

  1. Draw schedule. The raffle is centralized, preferably in the National Office. Weekly draws are held in each of the 19 BIR Revenue Regions every Friday from October 1 to December 10, 2004, monthly draws on October 29 and November 26, 2004, and the Christmas draw on December 17, 2004. A Bonanza Draw is announced by the BIR if the condition for it arises.
  2. Prizes. Weekly: 2 winners of P 25,000 per Regional Office. Monthly: 2 winners of P 1Million each. Christmas: 3 texter winners of P 1Million each and 3 issuer winners of P 50,000 each.
  3. Qualifying receipts. Official Receipts, Sales or Cash Invoices and CRM/POS receipts for consumer purchases of at least P100.00 qualify, if issued from September 8, 2004 up to December 15, 2004 by professionals and private business establishments. Provisional, temporary and delivery receipts do not qualify, and the receipt must show business name and address, TIN, date, amount and BIR Permit Number, except those from BIR-registered CRM/POS machines.
  4. Who may join. Texters must be individuals or natural persons, not juridical entities like corporations, and there is no replacement for a disqualified winner. Receipts issued to juridical persons, those issued by the texter or his business or representatives, and those acquired in the course of trade or business cannot be entered. The texter must hold the receipt, and a receipt in another person’s name needs proof of possession and use.
  5. How to enter and report. First entry is sent by SMS to the BIR access number in the format RESIBO(SPACE)NAME*ADDRESS*TIN OF PROFESSIONAL/BUSINESS/COMMERCIAL ESTABLISHMENT*RECEIPT NUMBER*AMOUNT OF PURCHASE. Later entries omit the name and address. A failure to issue a receipt is reported by SMS in the format NO(SPACE)OR(SPACE)NAME OF ESTABLISHMENT(SPACE)ADDRESS OF ESTABLISHMENT.
  6. Drawing of entries. Qualified entries are drawn electronically using random-selection software. Each entry goes into the weekly draw for the week it was entered and the later monthly, bonanza and Christmas draws if not already drawn. A texter may win more than one prize, but one entry wins only one prize.
