Key points

  1. Covered programs. Local programs include the CSC Local Scholarship Programs (Masteral Degree, Bachelors Degree Completion, Skilled Workers in Government) and other local programs. Foreign grants include KOICA, JICA, MTCP, USAID, AusAID, WB-IMF, Singapore-IMF, Singapore Colombo Plan, and other international agencies, organizations or private companies.
  2. Eligibility. BIR employees with at least two (2) years of service in the Bureau who meet the qualifications in the Order may benefit. Each functional group in the National Office and each Regional Office prepares a roster of eligible employees.
  3. Contract and field of study. All scholarship programs are covered by a contract between the grantee and the BIR. The field of study must be relevant to the agency or to the official duties of the official or employee.
  4. Selection. Scholarship grantees are chosen on merit, the employee’s capability to pursue further education for career development, and the qualification standards of the BIR and the inviting agency. Participants in foreign-assisted trainings, seminars, study tours and exposure trips go through screening and final selection by the Management Committee (MANCOM).
