Summary
RMO No. 20-2024 amends certain provisions of RMC No. 37-2024 on Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) inquiry through electronic mail.
Key points
- Verification. The Customer Assistance Division Agent checks the taxpayer’s submitted information against IRIS-TRS, ITS-Reg or the eTINQuery System.
- Matched information. If the information matches, an email reply gives the taxpayer’s TIN.
- Unmatched information. If the information does not match in the three databases, the request is denied and the email reply states the reason.
- No TIN found. A taxpayer with no matching TIN is advised to apply for one through the Online Registration and Update System (ORUS).
- Multiple TINs. A taxpayer found with multiple TINs is advised to coordinate with the RDO where the duplicate TIN is registered and request its cancellation, so only one TIN remains: the one registered with the RDO where the taxpayer regularly transacts.
Who is affected
- Taxpayers requesting TIN inquiry by email
