Summary

RMC No. 64-2015 reiterates the information that receipts and invoices generated from CRM/POS machines or software must show about the purchaser, customer or client.

Key points

  1. Required buyer information. VAT receipts or invoices must show the name, address, Taxpayer Identification Number and business style (if any) of the purchaser. This applies when the sale is P1,000.00 or more and is made to a VAT-registered person.
  2. Machines that cannot show the details. If the CRM/POS machine cannot show this information, a manually pre-printed receipt or invoice with an approved Authority to Print (ATP) must be issued under existing BIR provisions.
  3. Input tax credit. These details are required on CRM/POS-generated receipts and invoices for a VAT-registered taxpayer to validly claim input tax credit.
  4. Penalties. Failure to comply is penalized under Revenue Memorandum Order No. 7-2015 and other existing revenue issuances.

Who is affected

  • Taxpayers issuing receipts or invoices from CRM/POS machines or software
  • VAT-registered purchasers claiming input tax credit
