Summary
RMC No. 46-2021 clarifies the deadline for filing Annual Income Tax Returns (AITR) for the taxable year ending December 31, 2020, and gives guidelines on filing, including use of electronic signature.
Key points
- Deadline not extended. The deadline for filing the AITR and paying the tax due stays at April 15, 2021. A tentative AITR may be filed on or before the deadline.
- Amended returns. The return may be amended on or before May 15, 2021 without increments. If the amended return results in overpayment, the taxpayer may carry the overpaid tax over as credit against the same tax type in the succeeding period or file for refund.
