Key points
- Pre-generated TINs. The BIR Systems Operations Division issues 4,000 pre-generated TINs to the SEC. They are replenished on request when 80% have been used. The SEC issues them to new partnership and corporate registrants and sends the BIR a list with registration information for upload to the BIR ITS Registration System.
- RDO processing. Computerized Revenue District Offices (RDOs) validate newly uploaded corporations in the ITS Registration System against submitted documents. They process the registration and issue the Certificate of Registration (COR) and other permits for secondary registration after other documentary requirements are complete.
- Date of registration. The registration date is the date the SEC issued the pre-generated TIN to the taxpayer. Corporations operating without the necessary BIR registration requirements are penalized.
- Monthly list. The Revenue Data Center generates the “List of SEC Registered Taxpayers with Issued Pre-generated TIN for the Month” every 5th day of the following month. It is e-mailed to the appropriate RDOs for processing and monitoring.
