Key points

  1. How to apply. Pre-qualified small business employers apply through My.SSS on the SSS website. If SSS notifies them otherwise by e-mail, they send the documents to sbwscertifications@sss.gov.ph. Manual applications or those through unsanctioned means are not entertained.
  2. Application deadlines. Applications are accepted until May 8, 2020. Until May 19, 2020, two groups may complete theirs: employers who asked the BIR for pre-qualification on or before April 30, 2020 and were found compliant, and employers already filed with SSS who were notified of employees tagged as lacking/invalid credentials (pre-payout) in non-essential industries in regions with the highest concentration of applicants.
  3. Employer certification and refund. Employers list eligible employees and certify that the information is true, accurate and complete. Employers who misrepresent the fact of wage payment or other material facts must refund the subsidy to a designated bank account.
  4. Payout in two tranches. The first tranche is paid from April 29 to May 15, 2020 and the second from May 16 to 31, 2020. The Secretary of Finance may extend the payout periods under highly justifiable circumstances. Employees who received DOLE CAMP or similar benefits may still qualify, but the second tranche is net of those amounts.
  5. DOF data roles. Subject to a Data Sharing Agreement, the DOF receives the DOLE list of CAMP applicants. It cross-matches that list with the first tranche beneficiaries and gives SSS the result to tag CAMP recipients for the second tranche.
