Key points
- Submission options. Taxpayers may submit through the nearest Revenue Collection Officers (RCOs), regardless of RDO jurisdiction, or through the online Electronic Audited Financial Statement (eAFS) System.
- Stamping of paper returns. For returns paid through the AAB online facility, RCOs/COs stamp “Received” on the Balance Sheet, Income Statement and Audit Certificate pages, if applicable. Corporations and other juridical persons need at least two (2) extra copies of the Audited Financial Statements stamped “Received”.
- Electronically filed returns. RCOs/COs accept and stamp only the Filing Reference Number copy from eFPS or the e-mail confirmation from eBIRForms, together with the Financial Statements. Out-of-district returns are forwarded to the concerned RDOs.
- eAFS upload. The attachments are grouped into three (3) document files and scanned as PDF files before upload on the BIR website. The system issues a Transaction Reference Number and an e-mail, which serve as proof of submission in place of “Received” stamping.
- Keep originals. The taxpayer keeps the original copies of digitally submitted documents and presents them to the BIR upon request.
