Key points

  1. Purpose of the Circular. It informs agencies about Open Data Philippines and the roles and responsibilities of each agency in it.
  2. The data.gov.ph effort. An ad-hoc Task Force was formed in April 2013 to begin developing data.gov.ph. The Open Government Data Philippines (OGDP) Task Force works with government agencies to fill the site with their datasets, so public government data becomes searchable, understandable and accessible.
  3. No mandatory disclosure. The Circular is not a policy of mandatory disclosure of all government datasets. Agencies holding datasets tied to national security or defense, or whose disclosure is prohibited by law or regulation, need not submit them.
