Key points

  1. No compromise. Dishonored check cases are not subject to any compromise settlement.
  2. Account Closed. Checks dishonored for “Account Closed” go to the Legal Division of the Regional Office, or the Legal Service of the National Office for large taxpayers and excise taxpayers. These offices file a court case for violation of Batas Pambansa Blg. 22 (Anti-Bouncing Check Law). The tax return, payment form or docket goes to the collection group for collection enforcement.
  3. Chief, Collection Section. At the Revenue District Office, this Chief keeps the original dishonored check submitted by the Authorized Agent Bank branch. The Chief also sends the collection letter and carries out the appropriate summary remedies.
