Key points

  1. Updated taxpayer type codes. The Order lists new eTIS codes for individual and juridical taxpayer types. Examples are EO98FC and EO98FN for Executive Order No. 98 filers, RAEMP, RASP and RAP for resident aliens, GPP for general professional partnerships and COOP for cooperatives.
  2. Uniform use. The standard classification and codes are used uniformly by all district offices and other concerned offices to classify taxpayers, new registrants and their taxes. This avoids inconsistencies in registration reports.
  3. One type per taxpayer. Each taxpayer has one classification, chosen by the taxpayer’s main line of business or profession. For multiple lines of business or profession, the Taxpayer Service Section indicates as many applicable PSIC/PSOC as appropriate.
  4. Basis for eTIS. The classification, PSIC and PSOC serve as input and basis for developing the Electronic Taxpayer Information System (eTIS).

Who is affected

  • Revenue district offices and other concerned offices
  • Taxpayers and new registrants

Deadlines and effectivity

  • Effective upon implementation of the eTIS
  • Before the eTIS rollout, RMO No. 11-2004 policies still apply
