Key points
- Two filing options with the SEC. The taxpayer may file one copy of the complete AFS with the External Auditor’s Certification, Balance Sheet and Income Statement stamped by the BIR or AABs, plus two sets of photocopies. Or the taxpayer may file one certified true copy of the complete AFS, with BIR certification on every page, plus two sets of photocopies.
- How to get a certified AFS. Under the second option, the taxpayer requests the certified true copy from the BIR office where the taxpayer is registered.
- Fees. A certification fee of Php100.00 and Documentary Stamp Tax of Php15.00 are paid for each set of AFS certified. The same amounts apply to each ITR certified as true copy.
- Certification and optional nature. The BIR officer stamps Certified True Copy and signs every page of the photocopied ITR and AFS. Securing certified true copies is not mandatory for taxpayers.
